This project represents a perfect situation where solar powered aviation lighting solves a critical business issue for the customer. The oil and gas producer had a unique situation in that many of their helicopter landing pads are located in remote areas. Without reliable electric power nearby, operations were being limited to the amount of daylight available to safely land helicopters, often of which were delivering supplies or important personnel. With the Carmanah A704-5 solar powered aviation lights and wind cones, the oil and gas producer can now fly at any time.
The A704-5 aviation lights offer significant competitive benefits over other products on the market. According to recommendations by the Federal Aviation Administration and the International Civil Aviation Organization, the A704-5 meets the photometric output intensities required for helipad touch down and lift-off area perimeter lights, unlike other comparable products.
