Ducati Diavel described as a Monster on steroids

Ducati Diavel described as a Monster on steroids
If there is one thing we have learned since riding together, it is that Kathy has the most challenge in finding a bike to suit her.

Finding a bike low enough for her size and powerful enough for her ability is not easy. So it was a pleasant surprise that the 2011 Ducati Diavel turned out not only to be the perfect bike for Kathy, but with its three riding modes, offered a great ride for each one of us.

The Diavel (the name derived from a Bolognese “Ignurànt comm’ al Diavel!” translated to “Evil, just like the devil!”) was created to compete in the muscle cruiser category.

At the 2011 Vancouver Motorcycle Show, Steve Hicks of Ducati Canada said, “This is going head to head with the V-Max [Yamaha] and the V-Rod [Harley-Davidson] but actually taking the class once again, like we did with the Multistrada, to a completely new level.”

The Diavel shares the same Testastretta 11° engine first unveiled with the Multistrada 1200. In Ducati’s words, “a motor that’s a racer at heart and yet ready for long distance touring or everyday urban use ... an engine for all environments.”

The bike is very masculine looking and this visually intensifies with the carbon-fibre option look – a subtle Ducati statement according to Hicks.

“It is a [Ducati] Monster on steroids,Like other Sprint modems, the U600 connects r4i to Sprint's CDMA 3G and WiMAX 4G networks on a $60/month plan that includes unlimited WiMAX and 5GB of 3G use.” continued Hicks, “with a little Sylvester Stallone kind of look.”

If you can picture that, add in a 240 mm rear tire with a two-part circular fender and raw criss-cross side frame.LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. “I found myself constantly explaining my breathlessness about the bike to anybody who came around,” exclaimed Kathy, “And I will continue to sing its praises until I find another one that can challenge and excite me as much as the Diavel did.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.”

It is true. The Diavel is an attention drawer, even in the standard Ducati solid red. We rode the model for the Okanagan chapter of Ride for Dad where riders freely offered up their comments.

We wanted to see the reaction for ourselves as we pulled in, and then left the bike for the onlookers at early morning registration. As we conducted various interviews with ride participants, a small crowd surrounded the bike for a closer look.

Mr. Furlong had watched the riots on TV, sticking with the coverage until the last live report was aired. At the memorial service, he told Ms. Clark that if “there’s any way I or people close to me could help in any way, I’d be happy to try, and I left it at that,” he said during a conference call.

The Premier and Solicitor-General Shirley Bond followed up, and Mr. Furlong received an official offer on Monday to co-chair the review with Doug Keefe,Thankfully a new form of led strip energy-efficient light bulbs have arrived that provide this desired feature. the former Nova Scotia deputy attorney-general.

Now the two men must quickly assess security planning before the June 15 riots, and the response afterwards to the worst such disturbances in Vancouver since the similar riots in 1994, when the Canucks lost Game 7 to the New York Rangers.

Mr. Keefe, who spent 30 years with the Nova Scotia public service and has participated in reviews of the 1992 Westray mine disaster and 1998 Swissair Flight 111 crash, said he brings an outsider’s “fresh pair of eyes” to the project. Mr. Furlong said his expertise includes his leadership role in the Vancouver Olympics, one of the most complicated events ever held in Canada. Both men said they will tap whatever experts are required to properly complete their assignment.

Mr. Keefe said one priority is to understand the lessons from the 1994 riot, and see whether those lessons were integrated into the operations of Vancouver police. “I think that’s going to be very important and very interesting,” he said.

Mr. Furlong said he will be fair to Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, grappling with arguably the worst crisis of his first term as mayor, despite pointedly criticizing the mayor in his memoir of the 2010 Winter Games.

In Patriot Hearts, co-written with Globe and Mail columnist Gary Mason, Mr.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Furlong chastises Mr. Robertson for trying to capitalize on problems with the Olympic Village and inserting himself into a torch-lighting ceremony in Greece.

But Mr. Furlong said he never criticized Mr. Robertson on matters germane to security issues that are the focus of the review and that he has, overall, had a “very good relationship” with the mayor.

The truth behind lies: Fibbing a sign of smarts, creativity

The truth behind lies: Fibbing a sign of smarts, creativity
People lie every day. They lie to each other. They lie to themselves. One researcher even found that strangers meeting for the first time will lie three times within 10 minutes. Of course, liars are always other people.

“We say we hate liars,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs.” British author and journalist Ian Leslie says. “Politicians are liars or my ex-boyfriend is a liar. People say, ‘The only lies I tell are white lies.’ But if you ask them to define what a white lie is,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. it’s very hard to do. I have been struck by our mixed-up relationship with lying.”

His fascination with the idea led to extensive research for his latest book, Born Liars: Why We Can’t Live Without Deceit.

“There’s an equilibrium in human society where it makes sense for us to tell the truth most of the time because if we didn’t, we couldn’t cooperate and we couldn’t get anything done. But it also makes sense for us to lie now and again. We just have to accept that.”

Leslie shared the top three misconceptions about deception with Postmedia.

Misconception No. 1: We should be angry when kids lie.

Children don’t understand that what is in their mind is not in everyone else’s. So, if your little one knocks over a lamp and tells you that the wind must have blown it over, you should be impressed.

“It’s a tribute to the intelligence and creativity of a child to conceive of an alternative version of reality. They need the empathy to think about what others are thinking and feeling to come up with a good lie and then they need to be able to deliver it. They’re writers and performers of their own work.”

Misconception No. 2: Lying is a character flaw that needs to be resolved.

Many species practise deception to survive. As an example, Leslie cites the Eastern Hognose snake, which will fake its own death when threatened.

Primates deceive cleverly and often; researchers found that the more deceptive the apes, the bigger the brains. The bigger the brain, the bigger our social network. Anthropologist Robin Dunbar was able to predict the group size of a species by the size of its neo-cortex. (Humans should be able to cope with a social group of 150, he said.)

“The machiavellian theory of intelligence says that we didn’t evolve our bigger brains in a battle with nature. . . . We had to get smart because we had to deal with the challenges of social life,” Leslie says. “We have bigger groups and therefore more competition for resources. The more you ‘compete’, the more you have to work out who else is trying to trick you.

“When we get better at deception, we get better at detecting deception,” he says.

Misconception No. 3: You know how to spot a liar.

“I thought along with everyone else that you could tell when someone is lying because they’re shifty and they fidget and their eyes move away from their face,” Leslie says. “But when you talk to people who have studied it, none of those things are true. Good liars look you straight in the eye and they tend to be very articulate. They have their stories thought through with a lot of details. It’s the opposite of the liars stereotype, which is why they get away with it.”

To catch a liar, investigators might want to try something other than browbeating a suspect in a small room under an intense light bulb. While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment

“The better thing to do is to get liars to talk. If they’re lying, they’re putting themselves under a lot of cognitive and emotional strain. The more strain they are under, the more likely they’re going to screw up and give themselves away.”

Infineon Raceway lights up with major Panasonic solar panel installation

Infineon Raceway lights up with major Panasonic solar panel installation
Infineon Raceway, in partnership with Panasonic, has completed a major milestone in energy conservation with the successful installation of 1,652 solar panels at the famed Northern California raceway.

The project, part of Infineon Raceway’s long-standing sustainability initiative, was unveiled to the racing world press for the first time yesterday.

The event offered members of the media the opportunity to examine the installation, meet key Infineon Raceway and Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company executives, and learn more about Panasonic’s plan to become the number one green innovation leader in the electronics industry by 2018 and Infineon’s goal of becoming one of the most energy-efficient raceways in the world.

The high-efficiency solar panels, manufactured by Panasonic’s Sanyo division, will cover 41 percent of the raceway’s energy usage.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. In a further move designed to reduce energy consumption, Panasonic has also provided the raceway with a low-energy LED video board, replacing the current installation on Highway 37.

To emphasize the importance of energy conservation, Infineon Raceway had the solar panels installed so that they would be visible to the majority of fans attending events at the facility. Panels have been placed above the Turn 10 Sound Wall, the Main Grandstand,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. the administration office and the Raceway Cafe, as well as the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School building. Race fans will have an opportunity to see them during this weekend’s Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Separate from the energy savings achieved by the solar panel arrays, Panasonic’s new full-color, dual-sided LED video board will use less energy than the previous sign, which was powered by 7,000 traditional light bulbs. Easily visible from Highway 37, the new board measures 5.77’ high by 17.32’ wide, and uses 57,600 LEDs to create messages brighter than the older technology. Yet, it consumes just 50 percent of the energy of the board it replaces.

“The installation of Panasonic’s high-efficiency solar panels and board is a major milestone in Infineon Raceway’s Accelerating Sustainable Performance program,” said Steve Page,While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment president and general manager of Infineon Raceway. “We’re honored to be teaming with Panasonic as our Visionary Partner in this significant venture.”

As part of its commitment to achieving a sustainable future, Infineon Raceway has already introduced low/no carbon racing, boasts a comprehensive recycling program and even uses 3,000 sheep to trim the grass around the track and grounds.

The photovoltaic cells in Panasonic’s solar panels are manufactured in the United States in Salem, Ore. The aggregate impact of the installed panels is generation of 353 kilowatts of power. It is estimated that the installation will save 34,000 barrels of oil over 30 years.

“Panasonic has publically stated its goal to be the number one green innovation company in the electronics industry by 2018, which will mark Panasonic’s 100th anniversary,” noted Jim Doyle, president of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company. “Our valued partnership with Infineon Raceway is one more example of how we intend to make good on this commitment.”

'Sustainable' challenge data released

'Sustainable' challenge data released
Results of a year-long effort to make several facilities around Stamford more energy-efficient and sustainable were released at a luncheon on Thursday afternoon at UConn Stamford.

The effort, dubbed the Corporate Substantiality Challenge, was a one-year challenge for three area companies to benchmark their water and energy usage and adopt substantiality policies, according to Kristine D'Elisa, the challenge's director. It is the first step in getting other Stamford businesses and property owners to become aware of how to make their facilities more sustainable, she said.

"We hope that this is the first step to getting more if not all businesses inStamford to be energy-efficient and sustainable," said D'Elisa. "This is a significant program and it would be great if more businesses wanted to follow the lead of these property owners."

D'Elisa said that there were nine policies that the companies were encouraged to adopt including; Car pooling and telecommuting, non-smoking, waste reduction, low mercury light bulbs, sustainable purchasing, integrated pesticide management, storm water quality management, implementation of a green cleaning program and an adoption of a light pollution policy. According to D'Elisa, each company successfully completed each policy.

Gerrit Blauvelt, head of property operations at Malkin Properties, which owns and manages First Stamford Place,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. said Malkin Properties' goal was to create a package of energy efficient measures that not only save energy and reduce water usage but also create a healthier work environment and reduce operating costs without compromise.

"Overall planning and communication is key to success in this program," said Blauvelt. "You can do quite a bit without spending money. We ended up saving 15 percent of energy costs and 45 percent on water usage."

According to Blauvelt, First Stamford Place replaced low-efficiency electric motors, installed premium efficiency drive belts for HVAC motors and fans, installed variable frequency drives on the properties chiller plants,While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment installed occupancy sensors in all new tenant spaces, replaced lighting in the complex's common areas, mechanical rooms and garages and installed low-flow fixtures .

Brian Heelan, Senior Vice President and Director of Operations of Albert B. Ashforth Inc., spoke about the results at its 74,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs.000-square foot office facility at 707 Summer Street. According to Heelan, the company installed a new high-efficiency cooling tower and an automated temperature control system, as well as energy-efficient lights operated by motion sensors and LED lights in all the stairwells.

"This program makes you stop and think and layout plans for the future of your facility," said Heelan. "You will see savings and benefits down the road, but it may take a while."

Heelan said Albert and Ashforth Inc. also instituted green cleaning policies in the facility, and the building increased recycling to 42 tons a year.

"In collaboration with our cleaning, landscaping, carting and exterminating vendors, we were able to successfully implement green sustainable policies at little or no additional costs," said Heelan.

Tom Lazzaro, director of Facilities Management at Greenwich Hospital, which has a 30,000-square-foot location in Stamford at 2015 West MainStreet, said the hospital facility implemented a number of changes, including creating a clean-air/no smoking policy, a mercury-reduction policy, waste reduction and recycling policies and several energy reduction and conservation strategies.

"The important thing to remember here is that you don't have to do everything at once," said Lazzaro. "You just need to start somewhere. This is a program that I would recommend to any business."

Ideal country estate

Ideal country estate
Many drivers today feel pretty safe in their large 4x4’s with seven-seats, despite paying £400 a year in road tax.

So what is the alternative?

Well, for the average family man all the space needed is for the wife, two or three kids and their assorted clutter.

So if all of that will fit in a normal family saloon then all that’s really needed to make sure there is room for the dogs too is a family estate.

And an executive one, if you have the money, will provide a few more home comforts for those longer journeys.

One such car I’ve recently driven is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class 220 CDI, one of the German luxury marque’s entry-level estates but still costing £30,Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.000.

It’s a big car, measuring nearly five metres in length, and is well over one-and-a-half metres wide, meaning you’d better have the garage extended if you are thinking of buying one and want to put it under cover at night.

The styling, despite the bulk, is very pleasing on the eye, with the front end mirroring that of the saloon.

The length of the car is exaggerated somewhat by the blacked-out B and C pillars (the ones between the doors and behind the back doors).

It also features luminous LED light clusters at the back for the rear lights.

On the inside,LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. all E-Class Mercs get direct control adaptive suspension, which self-compensates for any large load you lump into the cavernous rear, which can swallow 1,900 litres with the rear seats down and also has a low load sill to make heaving in large loads relatively simple.

The boot has the quickfold seating system which can be operated either from the rear or the side doors.

You can also specify the Easy-Pack load compartment cover which rises automatically when the tailgate opens to improve access in the rear.

Staying with the interior for a minute, the traditional Merc materials are as dull as ever, but that’s no bad thing – quite the opposite actually, I like its sparseness and spaciousness and the fit and finish is, as you would expect, exemplary.

As soon as you climb behind the wheel you just know you are driving a car that’s as bulletproof as..it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.. a bulletproof vest.

On the engine front, I drove a diesel with 170bhp from four cylinders and twin turbos.print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection.sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others Top speed was 130mph with the 0-60mph dash ticked off in nine seconds. But the emission figure of 150g/km is the cleanest of the entire E-Class range and fuel economy was brushing the 50mpg mark from my BlueEFFICIENCY model.

And with the five-speed automatic gearbox (an option here at £1,490) I feel totally at ease with the car and vice-versa.

It really is a simple car to drive and you do feel ultra-safe cocooned in that no-fuss and frills interior.

I think Mercedes-Benz has to be applauded for making the lower end of the range so much more appealing, rather than having to spend oodles of cash on the range-topping versions to get your kicks.

The boom in 4x4’s hasn’t helped the estate car one iota, but rest assured when you get one as good as this is, they’re just (if not more) practical, and perhaps more adept from a driver’s perspective, and for allowing the other half to borrow the keys without fear, of course. It is a car, after all.

Set simply out of this world

Set simply out of this world
Star Wars fans in Christchurch have overcome seismic forces to rebuild the Death Star.

A perfect reconstruction of a set from the original Star Wars film will be one of the main attractions at the Armageddon science fiction expo next weekend.

The set was built by three Star Wars enthusiasts over a year and had to be fixed after it was damaged in the February quake.

Christchurch jedi Andy McEntee has been shovelling silt for City Care by day and putting the final touches to the set by night with fellow fans Anthony Hoch and Andy Clyne. McEntee said they redoubled their efforts to stay on target to complete the Star Wars set in time for the expo.

"It has been a pain to build this because everybody has been under stress. I just hope like crazy that we don't get any shakes on the Friday when we are setting it up," he said. "A lot of man hours and money has gone into the build. Bits of it have been damaged in the earthquake. It was bent out of shape. It got put on hold for a while."

Singer Lights Up Birthday for Bridgeport Hospital CEO at Fairfield Fundraiser

Singer Lights Up Birthday for Bridgeport Hospital CEO at Fairfield Fundraiser
How many people can say they've had “Happy Birthday” sung to them by famous singer-actress Vanessa Williams in front of more than 450 people at a major fundraising event? Probably not many. But Bridgeport Hospital President and CEO Bill Jennings is one of them.

Williams led guests in a musical 44th birthday tribute to Jennings just after finishing the keynote speech at the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center’s June 16 Rose of Hope Luncheon in Fairfield. The event supports the Center’s programs and services for patients and their families.

“I was amazed!” Jennings said afterward.

This year's Rose of Hope Luncheon was co-chaired by Linda Blackwell and Daneen Grabe of Fairfield, two members of the Breast Care Center’s President's Council.

“Kudos to Linda and Daneen for orchestrating a phenomenal luncheon,” Jennings said. “And I tip my hat to Breast Care Center Executive Director and Vice President of Development Donna Twist for arranging a birthday serenade that will never be equaled—at an event that we will always strive to equal.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.”

Williams, the award-winning recording artist and star of TV’s “Desperate Housewives” and “Ugly Betty” spoke about a close friend’s battle with breast cancer and about overcoming personal and career setbacks in her own life. She also had a health message for all women.

“My life lesson, my ‘a-ha’ moment, was that women, even young ones, must be vigilant and take care of their breast health—and please follow through with the treatment,” Williams said.

In addition, Williams praised the work of the Breast Care Center.

“You don’t know how lucky you are to have a place to go where you can find everything you need for the care of breast cancer,” Williams said. “The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center is always just around the corner.”

Williams was introduced by Breast Care Center patient Natasha Jones of Bridgeport, a single mother and college student who had just spoken about her breast cancer journey.

“Thanks to the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, I’m here today,” said Jones. “The Center’s caregivers took stress away from a stressful situation. Having breast cancer enlightened me. It made me want to be a better mother, provider, print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection. student, and friend. I’m hungry for life now. I’m a whole new person.”

Jones added that the Breast Care Center staff helped her in other ways, too.

“They found grants to pay for my utilities when I couldn’t,” she said. “As much as I appreciated the financial help, they meant much more to me than that. I felt cared for and encouraged knowing that there were people out there willing to help, to offer support.”

Jones singled out the support provided by nurse and patient navigator Patricia Poniros. "Pat treated me—the whole person. She helped me more than I imagined. I never knew a nurse like that.Thankfully a new form of led strip energy-efficient light bulbs have arrived that provide this desired feature."

Another highlight of the luncheon was the presentation of Rose of Hope Awards to two other President's Council members, Donna Craft of Easton and Lynne Taikowski of Fairfield, for their support of the Center, including their role as co-chairs of many past Rose of Hope Luncheons.

“The Rose of Hope Luncheon is a chance for us to honor friends of the Center and to hear from women who have been touched by breast cancer,” says Twist.sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others “This year’s luncheon exceeded all expectations. Part of the Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute at Bridgeport Hospital, the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center has served more than 18,000 women and their families since it was established in 1999. A member of the prestigious National Consortium of Breast Care Centers, the Center provides a wide range of diagnostic care and treatment at its Bridgeport Hospital and Fairfield locations, including medical oncology, surgical and chemotherapy services, plastic surgery, mammography and radiation therapy, and genetic risk assessment as well as opportunities to participate in clinical trials.

The parts are available in LFGA and BGA packaging.

The outputs of both ICs are configured as two sets of 24 single pole, single throw, analog switches that feature low typical on-resistance of 18 ohms. This low switch resistance minimizes signal attenuation in the receive mode and provides two amp current capability in the transmit mode.

Both ICs may be utilized with multiple combinations of high voltage supplies to accommodate different operating modes in diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging, such as +40V/-160V, +100V/-100V, +160V/-40V (Vpp/Vnn). The HV2762 also features integrated bleed resistors to discharge residual DC voltages and reduce erroneous signals.

Assessment hike goes to Newman council next week

Assessment hike goes to Newman council next week
Property owners in the city’s 15 lighting and landscaping zones could be digging a little deeper next year to help cover the cost of providing the services funded through the assessment district.

The City Council will host a public hearing Tuesday, June 28,These are also used as art light as well, it is because crystal these lights did not emit any harmful rays and the bluish color of LED lights makes a painting look very different from others and makes them attractive for the viewers. The particular demise with the incandescent bulb bluebright continues calmly yet non-stop and in less as compared to any year or two today the sole goods stocked in stores is going to be lower electricity bulbs, to consider enacting increases ranging from under $2 a year for properties in the Stonegate zone to nearly $37 in the Walnut Creek zone.

Property owners in the assessment district actually authorized the rate increases a year ago in a Proposition 218 election. But a mix-up in the ballot tabulations led officials to initially announce that the rate increases had been voted down. In light of the confusion surrounding the error,The particular demise with the incandescent bulb bluebright continues calmly yet non-stop and in less as compared to any year or two today the sole goods stocked in stores is going to be lower electricity bulbs, the council decided to postpone the increases until this year.

Even now, city officials point out, they are asking only enough to make up 25 percent of the difference between the current assessment levels and the true costs of providing the services which are to be covered by those revenues.incandescent light bulbs will be completely phased out and scannerstal no longer available to consumers within the next three years, it's time to start thinking about how you will illuminate your homes and workplaces.

“In these tough economic times we will make our best effort to keep the assessments at a minimum,” commented City Manager Michael Holland, “although it may mean deferring some projects (until adequate revenues have been collected).”

The annual assessments help cover the cost of providing street lights, maintaining parks and other public areas, sidewalk replacement, maintenance of block walls and graffiti removal.

The amounts vary, Director of Public Works Garner Reynolds explained, because some neighborhoods have more amenities to be maintained than others, and because each zone has a different number of parcels to share the total cost of covered services.

“Some of the areas have more limited improvements, so their rates reflect that,” Reynolds noted.

Older neighborhoods are not included in the district and do not pay the assessment. Subdivisions built since the late 1980s are in the district – but most have paid the same annual rate since inception. Only the last three – Hearthstone Ranch, Sherman Ranch and Monte Vista Estates – have escalators which previously allowed for increases.

Current annual assessments range from $17.28 in Stonegate to nearly $220 in portions of Sherman Ranch.

The average increase proposed is just under $9.

The least expensive zones under the proposed rates would be Stonegate ($19.22), Oakwood Terrace ($21.51) and North Manor ($40.31). The most expensive would be portions of Sherman Ranch ($227.86), Monte Vista Estates ($155.34) and Walnut Creek ($125.34).

Futher increases are possible in coming years as the city looks to fully bridge the gap between revenues and the cost of providing services in each zone,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. Holland said.

“We will take this on a year-by-year basis and evaluate where the economy stands and how we provide the high level of service to which our residents are accustomed,” he commented.

LG implements one of the world's largest LED lighting installation

LG implements one of the world's largest LED lighting installation
UAE. LG Electronics (LG) today announced that it has implemented one of the world’s biggest installations of LED lighting technology in its Twin Towers headquarters buildings in the Korean capital, Seoul.

LG’s Twin Towers headquarters buildings have been outfitted with energy and cost-saving LG LED lights and a dedicated lighting control system. LG has estimated that in a year, the lighting systems on both buildings will save a total of 1,717 MWh of electricity,it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. for a 53% saving over equivalent buildings using conventional fluorescent lighting technology.

Commenting on LG’s achievement,Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Mr.print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection. H.S. Paik,Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations. President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE said, “This accomplishment shows that LED lighting can deliver cost and energy savings in commercial scales, while being more eco-friendly at the same time. This feat was only possible because of breakthroughs in LED technology that LG has pioneered.”

LG’s LED lighting technology delivers energy and cost savings over conventional lighting as it is more efficient and has a longer life. LG has estimated that its lineup of lighting solutions provides energy savings ranging from 20-80%, and can last five to ten times longer. This performance can be enhanced using LG’s digital controls, which can dim LED lighting according to ambient brightness and activate it via motion sensors.

Mr. H.S. Paik concluded: “LG is committed to leading research and development in LED lighting, and we will continue to apply real-world solutions through technological breakthroughs.LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios.”

LED Lighting Prices to ‘Plummet’ By 2015, VantagePoint Says

LED Lighting Prices to ‘Plummet’ By 2015, VantagePoint Says
VantagePoint Capital Partners, the Silicon Valley investor that helped bring Tesla Motors Inc. (TSLA) public, expects prices for LEDs to “plummet” within three years as competition intensifies to satisfy surging demand for energy-efficient lights.

Prices for LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, may fall 90 percent by 2015, said Alan Salzman, chief executive officer of the San Bruno, California-based venture capital company, said in an interview.

Incandescent bulbs are being phased out in Europe. In the U.S., efficiency policies will eliminate the 100-watt bulb in 2012. LED makers stand to gain a bigger share of the $40 billion a year global lighting market. Bulb companies including General Electric Co. (GE) and Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV (PHIA) are producing LEDs, and Salzman said startups that are developing low-cost LEDs will take a slice of the market.

“We’re just at the beginning of the LED phase,” Salzman said. “There’s very little quality product yet even on the shelves.”

VantagePoint has invested about $750 million in 32 clean technology companies. Those include four that make LED products: Switch Bulb Co., Bridgelux Inc.,it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. Huga Optotech Inc. (8199) and Glo AB.
Timing of Boom

Salzman said that within five years, the use of LEDs for general lighting purposes may grow to more than 50 percent of the market from less than 1 percent today. Analysts including Ben Schuman at Pacific Crest Securities Inc. said it may take more time than Salzman suggest for the LED boom to happen.

“About half of lighting is residential, and it’s going to take longer than five years for payback periods for residential lighting to expand the market beyond early adopters,” said Schuman, who follows LED maker Cree Inc. “More recently, folks have become more optimistic about the consumer market.Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations. But I still think it looks like we’ll see industrial and outdoor, followed by commercial, followed by residential.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.”

Salzman said that it’s the commercial market that may take more time to develop.

“All consumer stuff will go,” Salzman said.print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection. “Commercial, where you have the fluorescent tubes -- that will take a little longer. I think it’s going to be one of the fastest clean-tech sectors to flip.”
Lighting Costs

A basic LED bulb will save U.S. consumers as much as $7 a year in energy costs compared with incandescent bulbs,Thankfully a new form of led strip energy-efficient light bulbs have arrived that provide this desired feature. and they’ll last for about 30 years, according to Salzman.

“If it’s $20 for the bulb, it’s a three-year payback,” he said. Salzman expects LED prices to drop to about a quarter of a cent a lumen by the end of 2012 from 1 cent now. By 2015, the price could be a 10th of a cent, he said.

Lumens are the unit of measure for light output. Incandescent bulbs are typically measured in watts, the amount of energy they consume. A 60-watt bulb produces about 800 lumens, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency website. The global lighting product market is estimated at $40 billion to $80 billion a year, Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimated in an October report.

There were an estimated 2.7 billion type-A bulbs installed in the U.S. last year, the most common size used in almost all basic lighting, comprising 1.7 billion incandescents, 990 million compact fluorescents and 240,000 LEDs.

Energy Efficient Lighting Breakthroughs Made in Germany

Energy Efficient Lighting Breakthroughs Made in Germany
German lighting manufacturer OSRAM last week reported new efficiency levels for OLED panels (organic light emitting diodes). However, the marketing muscle of Philips led light lighting could give Philips LED business an advantage. A result of German federal R&D funding, OSRAM received a portion of the EUR 100 million made available by 2015. This type of public-private cooperation has helped make Germany the most attractive location in Europe for manufacturers of energy efficient lighting. In fact Royal Philips Electronics announced last month a EUR 40 million investment to increase its production capacity of OLED lighting in Germany. Germany Trade & Invest will have experts at this year's Kintex International LED Expo and OLED Expo 2011 to share the latest opportunities in Germany.

"Germany is Europe's most important market for energy efficient lighting technologies. At the same time, German scientists are already finding solutions to tomorrow's problems. This makes Germany a very attractive location for companies looking to enter this growing industry, print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection." said Oliver Seiler, lighting technology expert at Germany Trade & Invest in Berlin.

German research institutes have earned a global reputation in this field. The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research (IAP), the Institute of Applied Photophysics (IAPP) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) are investing heavily in OLED research. This promising technology is highly efficient, lightweight, flexible and thin, with the ability to emit light in a wide range of colors. Currently the biggest challenges being addressed by researchers are to increase the life cycle of diodes in OLED lighting and to reduce production costs.

OLED lighting is set to change the way we light our homes and workspaces.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. The flexibility of this technology makes application possibilities virtually endless. OLEDs can be integrated into walls, ceilings, and even windows,Thankfully a new form of led strip energy-efficient light bulbs have arrived that provide this desired feature. as they can be transparent when turned off. And in contrast to the much criticized compact fluorescent bulbs,In many ways LED lights compact fluorescent provide the best of both worlds. They are extremely energy efficient and environmentally friendly (and are, in fact, more environmentally friendly this type of lighting is more pleasant and does not require time to "warm up", making it an attractive, energy efficient solution for the future.

Regional Grid Operator Warns of Greater Risk of Brownouts Next Summer

Regional Grid Operator Warns of Greater Risk of Brownouts Next Summer
The risks of brownouts next summer are growing, because of delays in building a high-voltage power line in northern New Jersey. Still, they remain a "very low probability," executives of the regional power grid told state officials last week.

"As we go into 2012, thstional Park Service has not approved a four-mile link through the Delaware River Gap National Recreation Area.

In addition to reliability concerns, the holdup will add to already high energy bills for consumers. According to PJM estimates, congestion in northern New Jersey will increase over the next two years, adding more than $400 million to electric bills.

The Friday hearing, the first of three scheduled by the agency, broke little new ground on issues dividing state officials and regional and federal energy regulators. PJM officials, joined by various industry executives, told the state its efforts to subsidize power plant construction by ratepayers would end up boosting prices in the long-term and make it difficult to attract future generation, unless, it too was subsidized.
The Next Megawatt

"Who builds the next megawatt in New Jersey?" asked Glen Thomas, head of the P3 Power Providers Group, a coalition of energy suppliers,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. in an exchange with BPU President Lee Solomon. Thomas questioned a state-hired consultant’s projection that subsidizing the three power plants will deliver $1.8 billion in benefits to consumers, saying it overstates how steep energy prices will run over the next 20 years.

Solomon and other commissioners gave little ground,The retrofit process itself can range from a simple count of existing lamps to a brightshine very detailed energy survey, which includes collecting information from your existing lighting, however, arguing a tariff designed to incent new power plant construction is failing miserably, costing consumers more than $1 billion a year. Solomon once again raised the prospect of New Jersey creating a state power authority and pulling out of PJM, an option he previously had characterized as a "last resort."

"New Jersey, in our opinion, is getting a raw deal. RPM has to be modified in some way," added Commissioner Jeanne Fox, referring to the tariff dubbed the Reliability Pricing Model.

John Schultz, vice president of energy operations for Hess, agreed, noting the primary purpose of the RPM is to ensure reliability. "Unfortunately that reliability is achieved in large part through RPM's funding of older, dirtier, inefficient generating stations and less through the development of new, cleaner, more efficient resources," he said.

Hess is one of the three developers awarded contracts by New Jersey to build power plants, a prospect that has dimmed with the passage of new rules by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) governing how power plants bid in auctions designed to ensure there is enough power to meet demand.

BPU officials also complained about another mechanism adapted by the regional grid operator to ensure reliability. An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights. Some older, inefficient plants operate under a Reliability Must Run contract, which directs special payments, again funded by ratepayers, to keep the plants from being retired, even though they run only a limited amount of hours each year. PSEG Power's Hudson I plant will receive $59 million in such payments this year.

The PJM also came under fire for delays in its process allowing new power plants to connect to the regional grid, a problem its officials recognize and are trying to address. Ninety percent of new projects in PJM’s interconnection system drop out of the queue, a fact that causes the cost of transmission upgrades by new entrants to fluctuate wildly. For Hess in a three-year period, the interconnect costs began at $340 million, dropped to $110 million and rebounded to $180 million, Shultz said.

As for reliability, Kormos said the regional grid operator has put in place contingency plans to prevent brownouts. Some retirement of old plants has been put off, such as the case with Hudson, and there will be increased use of demand response, a policy whereby big energy users voluntarily agree to reduce consumption at times of peak demand.

That response didn’t satisfy some. New Jersey Division of Rate Counsel Stefanie Brand noted,The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report. in her written testimony,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. "We are paying congestion charges and substantial capacity charges, and yet we still don’t know if the system will keep the lights on in coming years."

Study: Can we balance air conditioning, saving energy?

Study: Can we balance air conditioning, saving energy?
When it’s 100-plus degrees outside, all you want to do is turn up the air conditioning inside. Because of all of this cooling, some government-mandated incentive programs are aimed at getting us to buy more efficient air conditioners to save energy and money. However, a recent study from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University explains why, even if we buy the more efficient devices, the plan won’t necessarily work. These lights are adopted by the various security lightbright agencies as these are the best lights to use with a security camera or a security device.

Assistant research professor Matthew Croucher, who authored the study, says, “Utility companies, energy-efficiency advocates and the Arizona Corporation Commission may be forecasting a certain amount of energy savings that won’t materialize, and homeowners may not save as much money as expected.”

He points to a program where a California utility company subsidized purchases of energy-saving light bulbs for consumers. The bulbs were expected to help dramatically improve overall state energy efficiency. The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report. In reality, many of the bulbs just sat in customers’ garages and the ones used were later shown to have burned out much sooner than previously estimated. The Wall Street Journal says regulators found the $92-million rebate program was a whopping 73-percent less effective than predicted, but the government paid a bonus to the utility company anyway.

In Arizona, state regulators want to reduce electricity usage by at least 22 percent by 2020. In the service area covered by utility company APS, air conditioning currently accounts for 35.It pays to go to professionals with bestlight a proven track record in LED lighting, a vast selection of excellent quality products from various vendors that live up to their label, and a history of successfully completed projects.5 percent of all residential electricity usage and 22 percent of commercial and industrial usage. Therefore, incentives are being offered for customers to buy more energy-efficient air conditioners. However, we may face the same uncertainty as California.

“It’s like when you go to the gym every day and ‘reward’ yourself with a pint of ice cream on the way home; then you wonder why you’re not losing weight fast enough,” says Croucher, an economist at the L. William Seidman Research Institute at the W. P. Carey School of Business and a senior sustainability scientist at ASU. “Sure, a more energy-efficient air conditioner can potentially reduce your electricity usage and save you money, but not if you just use the air conditioner more or spend the savings on other energy-consuming devices. That’s when we see something called ‘the rebound effect.’”

Croucher says “the rebound effect” describes what happens when the technical efficiency of something, such as an air conditioner, improves, but the net result is a smaller-than-expected reduction -- or even an increase -- in how much the device is used. For example, people may use the money they’re saving on air conditioning to buy other energy-using items, or they may simply turn their thermostats lower to enjoy cooler temperatures because it costs the same as it previously did to maintain a warmer home.

Still, Croucher says we can help buffer the rebound effect.

“As consumers, we can help the situation by making real behavioral changes, not being tempted to lower the thermostat after purchasing an energy-efficient air conditioner and not buying more energy-sapping devices,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process.” says Croucher. “We can also utilize weatherization techniques: improve roof and wall insulation, repair leaky air ducts, seal doors and window frames, and use screens on windows, all of which the utility companies are willing to subsidize.”

Croucher also says older homes have more room for energy improvement, so they’re worth focusing on. He adds changing building codes or electricity prices can have a significant influence on energy savings in the future,The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report. too. Historically, in times when electricity costs more, builders tend to construct homes to be more energy-efficient.

“Ask any economist what the simplest way is to encourage less use of a product, and most will say to raise its price,” says Croucher. “Interestingly, energy efficiency tends to do the opposite, so we shouldn’t be surprised if savings are not as high as expected.”

New lamps for old, or brand new fixtures? (MAGAZINE)

New lamps for old, or brand new fixtures? (MAGAZINE)
There is a huge potential market for retrofit LED lamps that offer high performance at an acceptable price point, according to TIM WHITAKER.
It’s generally accepted that if you started with a blank sheet of paper, you wouldn’t design LED lamps that look much like conventional incandescent or fluorescent lamps (either linear fluorescents or CFLs). This is because it’s difficult to match the thermal and optical characteristics of LEDs with the form factors of conventional lamps and their sockets. Even so, there is a huge potential market for retrofit LED lamps that offer high performance at an acceptable price point, and companies are racing to stake their claim. Literally minutes ago I received an email entitled “First 100-watt-equivalent LED bulb” – see below for more details.

However, retrofit lamps are not the only answer.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Cree, for example, recently announced a series of LED luminaires that are designed to replace the types of ceiling troffer fixture into which one would place a linear fluorescent lamp. As described on page 9,print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection. in Cree’s luminaires a color-mixing chamber and ref lector system produce the desired light output, while a room-side heat sink is incorporated as a design element.

Back to retrofit lamps. Yesterday I received a press release entitled “Philips to unveil the world’s first LED replacement for the 75-watt light bulb.” The EnduraLED A21 lamp consumes 17W, but will not be available until the fourth quarter of 2011 in the US.LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. So perhaps the word “prototype” should have been included in Philips’ press release. Several other companies might also disagree with the use of the words “world’s first.” The press release also says that the suggested retail price for consumers has not yet been finalized but is expected to be in the range of $40-45. Oddly, Philips did not give specifications except to say that the lamp has “been developed to meet or exceed Energy Star qualifications” for a 75W replacement i.e. 1100 lumens at 17W (65 lm/W), a color temperature of 2700K, a CRI of 80, and a 25,000-hr life.

In fact, Switch Lighting announced a 75W-replacement LED lamp several weeks ago (page 16). The design has some unusual features, namely outward-facing LEDs mounted on metal fingers, inside a globe filled with an inert liquid. This creates a socalled self-cooling environment inside the bulb, allowing maximum brightness with fewer LEDs, says the company. And just in time for Lightfair, Switch said it would show a 100-watt-equivalent A19 LED lamp that produces 1700 lm in neutral white, which is “the same beautiful white color as halogen track lighting,” said Brett Sharenow, Switch’s Chief Strategy Officer. He added that the company “will offer a warm-white version of the 100W-equivalent bulb in mid-to late-2012.”

These announcements indicate the performance levels that we can expect to see in the shops over the next 1-2 years, although retail prices will need to hit the appropriate levels. The ongoing improvement in lamp performance is enabled in part by LED makers who continue to push the limits of LED efficacy,it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. for example Cree’s R&D result of 231 lm/W for a 4500K LED (page 10). Another factor is the development of more advanced LED fabrication processes, sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others which are helping to improve yields and reduce costs, as our articles on pages 31 and 41 describe.

Petition seeks better lighting at Leamington crash site

Petition seeks better lighting at Leamington crash site
Angry and distraught onlookers at the scene of a fatal boating accident in Leamington started an on-site petition Monday afternoon calling for upgraded lighting at the scene of the crash.

Members of the crowd had filled in more than 15 pages of a petition in the wake of the latest accident which claimed the life of one person. Two more individuals are missing and feared dead and two others were pulled from the water last night and remain in hospital.

The crash took place just before 11 Sunday night when a 23-foot Mirage power boat struck the south side of a breakwall which is located 500 metres from the marina. OPP were alerted by an area resident who heard cries for help from the water.

Courtnay Ribble and Tammy Sumner were among two of those collecting signatures. Ribble said she knew those on the craft. "They were very great people,LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. very nice. They were interested in boating just like we are."

Sumner said she, too, knew the victims "Everybody on that boat, there were all boaters. We're a very close-knit group."

Alen Antoniuk said Sunday's mishap happened, one year, one month and one day to the date of a crash at the same site.

In that incident a 32 foot craft hit the breakwall at about 1 a.m. Six people, including one child, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A crash a decade ago at the same site killed two people and seriouly injured two others.

Antoniuk said he agreed with the petition.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others "I know eight victims already taken by that breakwall over the last 15 years." he said. "Why don't they get solar lights out there that work all the time."

The father of one of the missing boaters described his son as a caring person who helped everyone he knew.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.

Ontario Canada – June 3rd, 2011 - The CFL revolution is far from over. Most people are looking to LED bulbs to reduce their energy consumption over what has become the "traditional" CFL bulb. "LED technologies will become a reality in the near future", said Ben Megidish CEO of Turolight Inc, a Canadian based leader in energy saving lamps and fixtures, today he strongly believes the cost and technical challenges of LED's prevent the technology from becoming main stream anytime soon.LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. Turolight has introduced a dimmable CFL bulb (Ilano?) that can last as long as an LED bulbs at a fraction of the cost.

Turolight, Canada’s leading lighting manufacturer is proud to announce yet another addition to its already impressive line of pioneering lighting and fixture technologies. The Ilano? Flat Panel Fluorescent, with 47 patents granted, is an innovative technology that features unparalleled longevity,it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. brightness, consistency and reliability in a bulb. Our proprietary design is fully dimmable and features superior flood lighting and warm coloring at a fraction of the cost. It truly is the superior alternative to any lighting technology for a wide variety of applications and industries.

Filaments are the leading cause of lamp failure. The Ilano? has no filaments and is water and chemical resistant which lends itself very well to usage in harsh conditions. This solid construction allows the lamp to operate in difficult high vibration environments without affecting life. This construction also offers millions of on/off cycles with no effect on life or lumen maintenance

The Ilano? is perfect for recessed ceiling fixtures, track lighting fixtures, or open general illumination requirements in residential, industrial, sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others agriculture and commercial applications that demand exceptional durability and long life.

The Ilano? yields the life of a solid state LED lamp at a fraction of the cost while offering superior flood lighting and warm coloring.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. All of these features and benefits are achieved while reducing power consumption by 75% and reducing maintenance costs saving hundreds of dollars per lamp over the life span of 30,000+ hours!

How the Glo Brilliant Personal Teeth Whitening Device works

The other day I got a phone call from Dr Jonathan Levine,LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios. inventor of the Glo Brilliant? Personal Teeth Whitening Device. I had just written about this new teeth whitening device that uses light and heat saying that I wasn’t convinced that it would work. Dr Levine called to explain what was different about his Glo Brilliant technology, and I have to say that I now see the light. Well, at least in theory, I get how this may work.

Dr Levine, a crown and bridge specialist who lectures at NYU, was originally behind Go Smile, a teeth whitening gel that is rubbed against the teeth and a product that I have used on and off for years. Recently, he had one of those ah-ha! moments when thinking about teeth whitening and LED lights and how the process could be both more effective and less painful.

Light and heat has been used to whiten teeth for some now. The procedure takes place at the dentist and usually over the course of four 20-minute applications. Typically, the light is outside of the mouth and with the patient’s mouth open, print still offers the only truly dstti unlimited 4G plan in America, and it's the only service you can safely use as an alternative to a home Internet connection. much of the bleaching gel on the teeth is simply evaporating. Because the active ingredient is prone to disappear from the mouth into the atmosphere, sale of LED for lighting applications.  Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others patients require high concentrations – causing sensitivity, if not pain – and multiple sessions. Dr Levine’s ah-ha! moment was the thought that if a closed environment could be created, with the light inside the mouth, then the bleaching agent would not evaporate and a less painful amount could be used.

The Glo Brilliant system uses a mouthpiece that is like the traditional whitening trays – except that they use LED lights and heat resistors. The gel is applied to the teeth (reminiscent of his original Go Smile idea) rather than in the tray, so that it doesn’t get on the gums.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Sessions are only eight minutes (rather than 20) and with a 6% concentration of the bleaching agent (compared to 18% at the dentist), it remains below the pain threshold.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. Because the device is designed to be used at home, it can be used multiple days in a row.

Dr Levine has conducted two clinical trials and he says that up to five shade changes can be achieved, and head to head against the Zoom teeth whitener Glo Brilliant has the same efficacy.

I am much more convinced by Glo Brilliant after hearing Dr Levine’s explanation. But the proof of course is in the using. Dr Levine kindly offered to send me a device to try out. I’ll report back on how it works out in a few weeks.
