Kites to take over the skies at Katara
Professional kite flyers from seven countries will be under one sky in Doha for two days when Qatar hosts Katara International Kites Family Day starting tomorrow.
China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, The Netherlands, and USA are among the countries represented at the event expected to set a trend in the country with regard to kite flying both as a hobby and a sport.
A total of 26 professional kite flyers will showcase their skills as well as share their know-how to visitors at the event which is free to the public.
There will be 152 kites in various hues, forms and sizes which will glide the skies, 50 of which are from China, where some of the first kites were produced almost 3,000 years ago.
During the event, China’s kite flying team will display a variety of traditionally designed, animal-shaped, and sport kites. One of the major attractions of China’s kite flying activity will be the dragon kites – an artful depiction of the fierce mythical creature which holds great significance in Chinese culture.
A frequent host of formal and informal kite flying events, India, like its neighbours Pakistan and Afghanistan, is long renowned for patangbazi, or the act of engaging in a competition involving fighter kites. In addition to the patang, a traditional, diamond shaped kite, Indian kites come in a variety of shapes and materials.
Team Mangalore, one of India’s premier kite flying clubs, will introduce 12 of its vibrant,While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment culturally-themed appliqué kites and kite flying expertise to the people of Qatar. Created from rip-stop nylon and bamboo, all kites have been conceptualized, engineered, designed,sale of LED for lighting applications. Semileds is led lights only a minor palyer and should currently not be mentioned in the same breath as the other others and crafted by the team members themselves. The team will also conduct workshop for about 150 children teaching them how to prepare Indian fighter kites.

The team first began kite flying in 1986, and since then have self-constructed most of their kites. In addition to Disney-themed kites, the team will also feature delta kites installed with LED lighting to brighten the skies over Katara.
The USA is home to the largest association of kite flyers in the world, the American Kitefliers Association. Kite flying in the USA is a popular recreational activity and is often tailored to suit weather conditions. The practice of building and flying kites is celebrated through the National Kite Month which is dedicated to the promotion and support of kiting.
Two professional kite flying teams, Team Gomberg and Team iQuad, as well as independent kite flier Jared Haworth, will demonstrate their kite flying expertise.
Team Gomberg are accomplished fliers and international travelers who are known for their big “show kites.” Recipient of various international kite flying awards,The brightness of the LED makes sharp led lamp black & white contrasts between the areas in and out of the LED light. the team was inducted into the Kite Hall of Fame in 2005.
Team iQuad specializes in formation team flying with quad line kites called Revolutions that can fly in forward or reverse with total speed control, spin, and even hover in place like a helicopter.
Kite flying enthusiast Haworth will exhibit five kites, including competition kites Jinx, JinxUL, and Hydra, as well as demonstration kites,Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. Talon UL and Talon VTD.
Also during the event, locally based partner non-governmental organizations will host educational and interactive booths at the event to raise awareness about their respective areas of interest. The event will conclude with 1,500 lanterns being lit and set adrift over Katara.
