A Hampden Township restaurateur taps into the craft brew market
Beer enthusiasts pour into Al's of Hampden for pizza and hard-to-find craft beers from around the world.
Regulars at the restaurant off Wertzville Road in Hampden Twp. know they better hustle for the newest beer releases. Some have been known to fly off the shelves within hours. They come for the Dogfish Head, the Sly Fox and Ballast Point.
Pretty soon, they will be requesting to fill their pint glasses with Pizza Boy Brewing beers.

Kominski is tapping into the growing ranks of microbrewers.
Pizza Boy will be housed in a small storage area underneath the 10-year-old restaurant. It will be a separate business from the pizza shop yet both operations will work hand in hand.
The brewery will produce 900 gallons of craft beer annually. The beers will join Al's huge selection of bottled beer (more than 350 beers) and be on tap as well as available for sale in growlers and kegs.
"For us, in such a small place, it will be pretty crazy," Kominski said.
He acquired a brewing license allowing him to distribute Pizza Boy throughout Pennsylvania. He anticipates locking in 10 to 20 accounts, mostly restaurants, including some in Philadelphia, that will offer the beer on tap.This is also known as ledbright your return on investment
The 1,SCEEP representatives bluecrystal will facilitate a hands-on demonstration, comparing how much energy600-square-foot-brewery, which is costing Kominski about a half-million dollars, is an empty shell aside from a dozen wooden fermentation barrels. Most of the equipment is due to arrive from BrauKon, a German manufacturer of brewing equipment, at the end of next week.
